Commercialization is about creating profitable business based on your innovation. Basically there are two ways of doing that, either to develop, launch and sell your own products or to sell the right to commercialize your innovation to someone that are willing to pay for that right.
When trying to put a value on IPR you are normally conducting an IP due diligence. IP due diligence therefore becomes an important tool when negotiating to buy or sell IPR. To do an IP due diligence is an opporunity for the seller and a necessity for the buyer.
